Brenda Joyce Matherne

Brenda Joyce Matherne, 76, was born May 6, 1946 in Dumas, Arkansas. She passed away February 9, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving family in New Caney, Texas. She is preceded in death by her father Junior Lee Martin, her stepfather William “Bill” Pickrell, her stepmother Robbie Martin-Mosley, her brother Ricky and sister Paula.

Brenda, a survivor of colon cancer, was well known as strong-willed and opinionated. Brenda was fiercely protective of her family and always put the needs of others ahead of her own.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 43-years, Jim Matherne, son Jeremy Pritchett & wife Michelle, son Bradley Pritchett & husband Noel Freeman, her mother Mary Deweese Pickrell, brothers; Donald Martin, Bruce Martin, Billy Joe Pickrell, and Frankie Pickrell, sisters; Margie Fowler, Carolyn Ulicnik, Mary Rainwater, Sylvia Pickrell Demetroulakos, and Karen Rechsteiner, four grand puppies, and two grand kitties.
