J. Jeffery Baxter

J. Jeffery Baxter, 65 passed on from this life to meet his Lord and Savior on January 15, 2019, in Richmond, Texas.  Jeff was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 27, 1953.  In May 1982, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Political Science at Concordia College, Ann Abor, MI and in May 1986, he received his Master of Divinity in Theological Studies at Concordia Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN. He worked as a Pastor and as an Assistant Pastor of Several Lutheran Churches; Missouri Synod, the first of which was Peace LCMS Alma Michigan and others in Ft. Wayne IN, Ann Arbor, MI and Rosenberg, TX and retired in March of 2015.  Jeffery was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.Jeff is preceded in death by his wife; Lorraine (Lou) Baxter, mother; Barbara K. Nice, father; James K. Baxter, brothers; Martin R. Baxter and Kenneth J. Baxter. He is survived by; sons; Daniel and Heath Baxter, brother; Timothy F. Baxter and wife Marion, sisters; Barbara Baxter and Lisa Mahlmeister, and nephews; Earl Baxter, Patrick Baxter, William Mahlmeister and Paul Mahlmeister, niece; Kristi Van Aken, grandchildren; Macaela, Taylor, Payton, Bryce, and Dakota and his beloved dog, Conan.Viewing will be held at Rios Funeral Directors on Thursday January 24, 2019 @11:00am to 12:00pm with procession @12:00pm arrival at Cemetery gate by 1:00pm at Houston National Cemetery and Committal service beginning at 1:15pm
