Lydia Lynn Smith

Lydia Lynn Smith, age 79, gained her angel wings on September 12, 2023 after a long and happy life. Lydia was born on April 20, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Emma Linnie Fine and Monte Leroy Fine. 

Lydia, also known as Grandma or Annie to all who knew and loved her, had a wild personality with a spunky spirit. The moment she heard Elvis playing, she would dance her little feet off. There was nothing she adored more than her grand daughters and great grandbabies. Annie was an exceptional artist, who loved to draw, paint, and color beautiful pictures for the ones she loved most. 

A loving mother and grandmother, Annie enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, family, and anyone else who was over for a visit. None of us will ever forget her famous egg ramen noodles or special potato soup. 

We will remember Annie for her love, her silly remarks, her always brightly colored hair, and her occasional, endearing stubbornness. 

Lydia was predeceased by her parents, Monte and Emma Fine. She is survived by her daughter, Linnie Nichols and husband Carl; grand daughters Paige Nichols, April Nichols, Amber Alexander and husband David; her many beautiful great grandchildren, and a host of loving friends and family.
