Marlene Martha Davis

We are sad to announce the passing of Marlene Franzel Davis of Beaumont, Texas.  She died at age 86 on Monday, November 6, 2023.  Marlene was born in Detroit, Michigan; but lived most recently in Beaumont and Sherman, Texas; both locations for many years.  She worked at both Gulf States Utilities and Beaumont Independent School District for most of her career.  She retired from Gulf States Utilities in Beaumont, Texas.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil A. Davis.  She leaves behind her 4 daughters, Denise McClung of Groves, Texas; Michele Forbes and husband Scott Forbes of Edmond, Oklahoma; Tracey Brodeur and husband Mark Brodeur of Conroe, Texas; and Lisa Stokes and husband Jerry Stokes of Sherman, Texas.  Marlene had 8 grandchildren, Tanner McClung and his wife, Lori McClung; Megan Forbes; Garrett Brodeur; Meredith Jimerson and husband Austin Jimerson; Taylor Brodeur; Emma Stokes, Griffin Stokes and Brody Stokes.  Great Grandchildren include Tucker, Claire, Aiden and Teddi.  

Marlene will be remembered most for her love of helping others and for her amazing spread of foods and desserts on all holidays and special occasions. Our favorite memories of our Mom will always be our shopping trips and her Christmas celebrations!  She will be missed by many and leaves us all with many wonderful memories. Our family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Lucas Place Assisted Living in Beaumont, Texas, for their excellent care of our Mom, where she spent the last few years of her life.  Thanks also to the Catholic Priests from the Beaumont area, who visited her frequently and guided her in furthering her Catholic faith when she needed their support the most.
