Sally Elizabeth Slaughter was born Sally Elizabeth Younger in Tulsa Oklahoma October 19th, 1956 to Joe and Wanda Younger. She went home to Heaven to be with Jesus on February 23rd, 2021. Sally's father worked as an oil field engineer resulting in moves to Bay City Texas, Houston, Hobbs New Mexico, and Midland Texas. Some of her fondest memories from her childhood came from the time she lived in Hobbs. She made many lifetime friends from that part of her life. Sally was always an upbeat person who made friends easily and made a huge impression on people throughout her life. Sally was successful in the field of office management which she gave up being a stay-at-home mom. Sally also worked as a guitar instructor. She was an accomplished musician and tennis player among many talents. Sally had a magnetic personality and a huge love for Jesus Christ and as a result she was influential in many people coming to know the Lord themselves. Sally was a very patriotic American who loved her country. Sally was highly intelligent and closely followed current events. She was an advocate for traditional Judeo-Christian principles and family values. Sally loved spending time at home with children and grandchildren and anyone else who would stop by. Sally truly listened to people and loved interacting with others. Sally never met a stranger and would always find a way to encourage everyone she encountered. Sally is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Wanda Younger, former husband Jim Slaughter brother Joey, and sister Julie. Sally is survived by her husband Richard Harmier, and sons Phillip and Aaron Slaughter, brother Tom Younger, daughter-in-law Ana Slaughter, sister-in-law Laura Younger and grandchildren Sophia, Naya, Major, and Zion Slaughter as well as niece Kasey Marquez, nephew Kyle Clifton, and nephews Eric, and Robert Younger. A service for Sally will be held at 12 Noon March 13th, 2021 at Peach Creek Baptist Church temporary campus at Peach Creek Plantation 25425 FM 1485 East New Caney, TX 77357. Due to construction of the Grand Parkway, you must take the Redbud Drive detour which leads you around the rear of the building.
