Thomas Dewayne Hill

The family and friends of Thomas deWayne Hill of Houston, Texas are saddened to announce his passing at the age of 63 years. Thomas was born October 6, 1961 and died December 28, 2024. He was born to Robert Lee Hill and Wilma Lois Johnson Hill in Houston, Texas. Thomas is predeceased by his father, sister, Sonja Annette Sullins, grandfather, Thomas Johnson, grandmother, Velda Denton Johnson, Step-mother, Evelyn Hill Pirtle, step sisters, Gerri Marshall and Ginger Sweetman.

Thom graduated from Palestine High School in Palestine, Texas in 1980. In 1983 he obtained a bachelor’s in business administration in accounting from Harding University in Arkansas. In 1992 he obtained a master’s in business administration in Economics from the University of Central Arkansas. Thom was analytical and focused. He was an analyst for Price Waterhouse in Arkansas, Winrock International in Little Rock, Arkansas and Jakarta, Indonesia and McDermott International in Dubai and Houston. His later career focused on private business consulting and planning.

Thom enjoyed travel and new experiences. He liked to take country drives and stop at little stores to see what they have and to buy snacks. Thom enjoyed reconnecting with family and friends. He also enjoyed building websites and exploring marketing ideas. He was mostly a quiet person with a big and generous heart. 

Thomas is survived by his children Kristen Nichole Hill and Ian Thomas Hill, his mother, Wilma Hill, brother, Nathan Hill, step-sister, Kimberly Hill Simms and extended family and friends. The Palestine High School Class of 1980 will plan a memorial service for Thom at a later date, to be announced on the class fb page.
