Victor Lopez passed peacefully on the morning of July 22, 2023 surrounded by family and loved ones. Victor was born in Aruba to Mary and Jim Lopez in 1945. Victor attended Oklahoma Military Academy and graduated from Miami High School and Tulsa University. He retired after 27 years of service to Texaco as a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. Victor wrote letters to the editor under the pseudonym “Vig Wig” to many local newspapers. In 1998 Victor was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (PD). He received several breakthrough PD procedures extending his life far beyond the expectations of modern medicine. Victor was a miracle. Those closest to him take comfort in knowing that love of family and love of God provided him with great happiness over the years.
Victor is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Mary Lopez, brothers David, Michael and Jamie, and his wife Martha Lopez. Victor is survived by his daughter Robin with husband Kevin, son Louis with wife Leslea and son Patrick with wife Ashleigh. Grandchildren Raven, Gavin, Jamie, Sarah and his sisters Leslie and Sharon, along with many other extended family members. A private memorial service will be held in 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to send a donation in his name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research. “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die" John 11:25-26.
